3G for Laptops
Connecting a laptop to the Internet using a 3G connection is now cheaper than ever - as well as being straightforward and easy.
Using a standard 3G broadband modem, supplied free with most contracts now, laptop users can have the speed and convenience of a fast Internet connection almost anywhere in the UK.

By having your own 3G Internet connection, it is much quicker and easier to be connected in a familiar and easy manner, wherever you are. Allowing you to get on and check your email of browse the Internet for the information you need, rather than wasting time changing settings.
Most 3G modems are supplied as a USB Modem or Dongle. If you are considering using a 3G Datacard or 3G Express Card with your laptop, consider if you would benefit from the ability to use your 3G modem in a netbook or even a desktop PC (for example if your home broadband failed)
While a USB dongle can be plugged into almost any modern PC, laptop or netbook, the 3G datacards usually cannot be installed in netbooks or desktop PCs. The main advantage of the 3G datacards is that they can often be left installed in the laptop without risk of damage, while USB dongles are easily damaged if not removed from the laptop when put into a carry case.
