3G and Netbook PCs - Screen Size
Screen size is an area where compromise is essential to achieve the portability of a Netbook PC over a standard size laptop.
Measured diagonally, netbooks commonly have 7", 9" or 10" screens. 12" and 13.3" screens are usually found on "ultra-mobile laptops".
The early netbook models with 7" screens had very limited screen resolution, typically 800 x 480 pixels which makes viewing web sites and documents on-screen quite cumbersome and tiring, with little usable screen area.
More recently, 9" and 10" netbooks have largely standardised on 1024 x 600 pixel displays giving a much more usable working area that also suits the majority of web sites without scrolling sideways.
